The Krayzie Chicks Frontyard Ultra starting on 17 January 2026 is a last woman standing event based at Kaiapoi Island, Christchurch.
This event has all the same rules as a Backyard Ultra but has shorter laps (6km) designed to give women the experience of a backyard ultra with a little less time pressure.
Competitors consecutively run a 6km course in less than one hour. When each lap is completed, the remaining time within the hour is used to recover and replenish for the next hour's race. The race finishes when one person completes one more lap than anyone else.
This is a self-supported event where you provide all your own food and fluid requirements.
