Pigs Backyard Ultra is a 'last one standing' event starting on 14 February 2026 at Silverstream Reserve, Whare Flat in Dunedin.
Competitors consecutively run a 6.71km loop (or yard) on the hour, every hour. There's no distance limit and no time limit. They complete as many loops yards as they can and the winner is the last person to complete a lap within the allocated hour.
The loop course includes a trail beside a water race, a bit of mud, a few stream crossings, loads of native NZ bush and occasionally some wild pigs.
