The Merrell Race Tekapo is back at Lake Tekapo/Takapō on 13 September 2025 with a 50km, 32km, 16km, half marathon, 10km, 5km and a kids' 3km distance.

The longest event of the day, the 50km, starts and finishes on the edge of Lake Tekapo, in a figure-of-eight course, allowing your supporters the opportunity to see you as you start, at almost the half way point, and also as you finish.

The 32km incorporates Mt John and the Regional Park, with an added section along the Lagoon Loop. The course is a mixture of flat trails, hill work and spectacular views. The 21km course is a similar course without the added Lagoon Loop. The 16km is flat and fast. The 10km distance takes you up Mt John and around the side of Lake Tekapo and the 5km is a looped course around the side of the lake and through the stunning Regional Park.

All distances can be run or walked (refer to event website for cut-off times for the half marathon).
