The Goat Adventure Run returns to Tongariro National Park on 17 January 2026 taking runners from Whakapapa to Turoa Ski Fields on the Round the Mountain track.

The approximately 20km course has over 1000m of captivating vertical ascent through a whole bunch of amazing terrain, and is a demanding yet achievable run that is widely acclaimed as one of New Zealand's premier off road running events.

'The Kid' course, for ages 5 -16 years, follows a 3.2km trail in the Mangawhero Forest in Ohakune on an off-road track that loops around the forest.

Participants will experience stunning scenery ranging from ancient lava flows and scoria fields, mountain beech forest, tussock grasslands and alpine herb fields to cascading waterfalls, an alpine lake, boulder strewn rivers and amazing panoramic views.
